In an effort to focus on our core strength, personal desktop software, ItzoeSoft Solutions will be primarily a software developer. We're not abandoning our IT consulting, but concentrating our energy on what we do best and enjoy the most.
One area, however, that's been gaining momentum for us is consulting on Microsoft Office Live Small Business web sites. More information on this service can be found here.
Both Isis Cookbook and Isis Personal Journal are nearing completion, which is really exciting. Isis Model Railroad Consist is coming along nicely, as well, and Isis Gourmand is starting to take shape. All told, the state of product development is really thrilling, and I'm really looking forward to future developments.2:19 PM GMT | Read comments(0)May 26Cookbook: Progress update
I've managed to progress quite a bit on Cookbook, and I'm looking forward to it being ready for beta soon. I haven't made any final decisions yet, but at this point I'm thinking this guy is going to be freeware.
Most of the functionality is complete, including the search, but I've still got quite a bit of testing to do. I also need to work on the options dialog, the New Cookbook Wizard, import and export, and the help system.
Still, because of the level of completion at this stage, I'm very excited.2:22 PM GMT | Read comments(0)March 30General: Web site updates
I took me a while, I guess, but I finally got around to updating the visual style of the ItzoeSoft web site. While I didn't totally dislike the green, I felt it was time for something new.
For what it's worth, I also tweaked the style settings, so I won't have to rewrite half the site next time I decide to change things up a little. It took some extra time and effort, but I believe it's worth it in the long run.
Finally, not one to leave well enough alone, I've also made some minor changes, mostly in the color scheme, to this blog. It doesn't match perfectly yet, and I may or may not get around to it. You know how that goes: by the time I do get to it, I'll probably be completely reworking it anyway.1:49 PM GMT | Read comments(0)March 17Product Announcement: Gourmand
Isis and ItzoeSoft Solutions are pleased to announce development has begun on a new application: Gourmand.
Gourmand is a culinary experience database where meals can be remembered and restaurants can be recommended, all based on past experience. Relive your favorite dishes at your favorite restaurants, and know what to avoid next time. It's all up to you.
Everything about the dining experience, from the flatware to the atmosphere, the price to the conversation, can be saved, searched and retrieved. The next time someone asks, "where's a good place to eat?" you won't be left speechless.
A screenshot should be available soon, so check back often for the latest breaking developments!8:12 PM GMT | Read comments(0)October 28Model Railroad Consist: Progress Update
I've removed the menu and toolbars, and already I'm pleased with the results. I find the interface much less cluttered and the overall use much more streamlined. I have yet to reinstate the music player, but it will appear in a panel below the main application area (in this image, the list of inventory items.) The process was much easier than I feared it'd be, so I'll be able to pick up and continue development without really changing any plans in the program work flow.
I should mention that the only piece of functionality I did remove was the ability to move back and forth within the program like a web site (also known as the history). I left the framework for it in, so I may reintroduce it at a later point, but I decided it wasn't integral to the application and thus wasn't necessary at this point.
Again, I'm really excited with where Consist is going. I'm looking forward to developments to come!7:04 PM GMT | Read comments(0)
